Preston Gee's September 2021 Financial Journey

| February 10, 2025

Starting Net Worth: -$15,664

September was another fairly lowkey financial month as I stayed hunkered down preparing for the impending exam in November. This was by far the most difficult month of the studying process because this is when I noticed summer officially ended, the sunset was earlier and earlier, and I had missed most of my summer as a result of studying. This was also around the time I realized I would like to move out and have my own apartment to take the next step into adulthood. Of course, I asked my girlfriend of 5 years at the time if she would move into the apartment which helped ease the financial burden of moving out on my own, so the apartment hunt was on! Another notable expense this month was covering the majority of the costs for our surprise 6th-anniversary road trip to Indianapolis, which totaled approximately $1,000. I maintained my contributions of 4% to my Roth 401k and $850 to my Roth IRA, and my total expenses for the month came to $1,966.22.

Ending Net Worth: -$14,361
