Starting Net Worth: -$23,355
July had 2 major events impacting my financial journey. The biggest, is this was the month where I paid for my study materials and began studying for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® exam. This exam is grueling, and I studied for 20+ hours per week over the course of 4 months in preparation for it. Of course, the study materials are also expensive and I spent about $2,000 in an effort to continue advancing my career. The second major event was me purchasing a car. I secured a car loan through my credit union with an incredible interest rate of just 1.89%. At the time, I didn’t fully appreciate how fortunate I was to lock in such a low rate. Fast forward to 2024, and I find myself wishing those rates were still within reach. I also continued contributing to my Roth IRA with $850 as well as my 4% Roth 401k contribution. My total expenses outside of study materials for the month came to $442.02.
Ending Net Worth: -$17,501
